Market: Defense

ConsumerHardware has long been a weak link for any electronic system's security or 'hack-ability'.  Defense electronics must be secure and highly reliable. XPM provides secure and reliable configurability to SOC chips used in military systems. Intelligent video has emerged as a key enabler, requiring sophisticated signal-processing and video analysis operations along with increasing amounts of storage.  Systems designed for space applications also require some level of radiation hardness.  Portable systems require long battery lifetime and thus must have low-power dissipation.

Kilopass Advantages

Secure : Not relying on a floating-gate storage technology, XPM is very secure from reverse engineering and the modification or theft of its contents.

Reliable : XPM’s immunity from failures has been demonstrated in standard reliability testing of temperature and voltage acceleration. XPM passed both tests under the standard industry criteria.

Low Power : Power consumption of XPM memory is low, making it ideal for non-volatile storage in portable and other power-sensitive devices.

Dense : With rapidly increasing storage and program-code requirements, XPM can store multi-megabits of user data or program code without significantly impacting chip size or cost.

Radiation Tolerance : Since storage is based on hard oxide breakdown and not charge or voltage storage, while not yet qualified for operation in a radiation environment, XPM has the potential to be radiation tolerant.
